Transport research projects receive € 484m in EU funding

The EU’s TEN-T programme has awarded 75 research and innovation projects a total of € 484m in research grants, aiming to make Europe’s transport systems greener, safer, and more competitive.
For €4.5 million EU contribution, DORA will design an integrated information system that helps passengers to optimise travel time between the airport and their destination.
For €5 million EU contribution, XCYCLE aims to reduce the number of accidents involving cyclists by developing technologies for their detection in traffic.
For €6 million EU contribution, HIGHTS aims to improve the accuracy of the position information by combining traditional satellite positioning systems, such as GPS and Galileo, with an innovative use of on-board sensing and infrastructure-based wireless communication technologies (e.g. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).
